Life is a little slower in Parkland once school ends and summer begins. Fortunately, this does not mean there is a lack of offerings or activities to enjoy. Let’s take a look at what Parkland has to offer during the summer.

Camps

To keep young Parklanders busy and entertained, the city of Parkland offers some wonderful camps. Additionally, there are some great private camps held throughout the city.

  • Kids Camp: Kids camp is held at Heron Heights Elementary for kindergarten through 5th grade. Campers must be 5 years old by the start of camp. Camp will start on Monday, June 20th, and will run through Friday, August 5th. The group goes on a field trip twice a week.
  • Travel Camp: Travel camp is held at West Glades Middle School for 6th grade through 8th grade. Camp will start on Monday, June 20th and will run through Friday, August 5th. The group goes on a field trip every day.
  • Athletic Republic Summer Sports Camp; Campers participate in sports from basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, and much more.
  • 5678 Dance Summer Camp: 5678 Dance is a dance summer camp held at the P-REC. It will run from Monday, June 13th, to Friday, August 12th. Registration is offered by the week and the cost is $275 for residents and $330 for non-residents.
  • Kingdom Training Basketball Summer Camp: Kingdom Training Basketball will be offering summer camp starting on Monday, June 13th through Friday, August 12th.
  • Volleyball Summer Camp: This camp is for participants of all skill levels ages 6 to 16 years old. The camp will be held at the P-REC and run from June 13th to August 5th.
  • Rob Nickels Tennis Camp: Rob Nickels Tennis Camp is held at the Quigley Tennis Center. Campers will learn new tennis skills and will enjoy the huge water slide. You get to choose the weeks you plan to attend.
  • Summer Academy Half Day Camp: Summer Academy Half Day Camp is for students attending summer school at Park Trails Elementary.
  • Pine Hollow: Campers will have the opportunity to love and care for a horse while learning safety and riding skills from our experienced staff.
  • Malachi Acres: Campers leave with knowledge of all phases of horsemanship, total horse care, horse psychology, and of course English riding fundamentals.
  • Next Stop Broadway is the premier training center for young performers in South Florida. It offers summer camps and other programs in the performing arts. Campers receive instructions in singing, dancing, acting, art, and stage production. The summer ends with a full-scale, fully designed musical production, in which EVERY camper participates.

Summer Events

  • Teen Night: Teen Nights are held during the months of June, July and August. Join us for a Teen Night on the third Friday of every month. Teens ages 12 – 15 years old will participate in different group activities and field trips.
  • Summer 2022 Fishing Derby: This is a Parkland longtime favorite. It is held 3 times during the summer at the Pine Trails Park Fishing Pier. There are many lakes and waterways throughout Parkland for anglers to catch fish.summer fun in Parkland
  • Movies in the Park: Parkland’s Pine Trails Park is transformed into our local movie theater
    with an 18-foot inflatable movie screen and delicious popcorn.
  • Eats ‘N’ Beats: Eats ‘N’ Beats is a food rally and concert. It is held throughout the summer and is a very popular event.

  • Coral Springs City Center: The Coral Springs City Center hosts plays, concerts, ballets, and other shows throughout the year including the summer. In addition, it is home to
    Broadway Bound.
  • Coral Springs Art Museum: The Coral Springs Art Museum is a beautiful place to cool off. It offers dynamic exhibits, exceptional art education, stimulating specialty programs, and events to ignite cultural enrichment.
  • Tradewinds Park: Tradewinds is a huge park. There is a vast array of offerings, including summer camps. Offerings include horseback riding, an educational farm, model steam train rides, shelters, fishing, athletic fields, Equine-Assisted Therapies of South Florida, and the world-famous Butterfly World.

  • Quiet Waters Park: Quiet Waters Park is a very large park. It has a water park for humans and their dogs. In addition, visitors can enjoy paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards.
  • Ski Rixen: Ski Rixen is located in Quiet Waters Park. It offers affordable water skiing and wakeboarding. It also has an ultimate obstacle course on the water!
  • Lion Country Safari: Lion Country Safari is a 4-Mile safari. Visitors, in the comfort of their car, witness large herds of animals roaming in wide and naturalistic habitats. It is home
    to a wide variety of animals, including zebras, rhinos, lions, and giraffes. In addition, there is an amusement park, water park, boat rides, and so much more.
  • Coconut Cove: Coconut Cove is a fun outdoor attraction featuring two 4-story waterslides, a 986-foot lazy river, an interactive water playground, and more!
  • Sugar Sand Park: Sugar Sand Park is a huge municipal park located in Boca Raton. It offers nature trails, playgrounds, sports fields, a hockey rink, volleyball courts, a gymnasium and so much more. Also, It is home to the following:
    • Children’s Science Explorium: The Children’s Science Explorium is a free hands-on science center designed for children 5 – 12 years of age and their caregivers.
    • Science Playground: The Science Playground is a tri–level hands–on experience with a variety of scientific principles for all ages. It is all-inclusive.
    • Willow Theatre: The Willow Theatre provides a unique theatre experience. This inviting 155-seat theatre gives each audience member a close-up view of outstanding, professional entertainment, in a setting almost as personal as your own home.
    • A carousel: 30 horses and two wheelchair-accessible chariots.
